I’m taking about a college education. It’s reported that those with a college degree has a greater potential to out-earn non-degree workers to the tune of $1M over their lifetime. I suppose that’s probably true so some degree in aggregate but what’s not accounted for is the cost of the degree. Education nowadays is big business to the point wall street has gotten in on the deal.
You would think that if the gov’t will lend you money to spend for education, it is somehow worth it. This is far from the truth and there is no connection nor oversight in the gov’t’s ability to determine value. Some parents and students know how to conduct cost/benefit analysis to make the best decision in choosing a school or training venue. Conversely, there are those who are following the herd and hoping for the best.
